Shadiyat Ajao is a poet based in Harlem. Her work explores the intimacy of cultivation and care. She holds an MFA from The New School and is an assistant editor for Conjunctions. She has received support from Cave Canem, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, and Breadloaf Environmental Writers' Conference.
In true millennial fashion, she dreams of a life beyond the confines of capitalism, preferably on farmland with friends and great food. She also visits bakeries with a frequency that some would refer to as "alarming."
